Peter is specialized in national and international Banking and Finance Law. He advises German and foreign banks on a permanent basis on all issues of Private Banking Law, Supervisory Law and Insolvency Law. His specialised area of work comprises complex acquisition, real-estate and project finance transactions for banks as well as for domestic and foreign investors.
After an apprenticeship with Hamburgische Landesbank (today named: HSH Nordbank AG) Peter studied Law at the Universities of Hamburg and Essex (England). Having passed his First Legal State Exam in Hamburg in 1992, he simultaneously worked as a legal trainee in the Hamburg Court of Appeal and as research assistant of the Max-Planck-Institut for Foreign and International Private Law in Hamburg. Peter wrote his Doctorate with a thesis on a topic of EU competition law and took his doctor’s degree in 1995. He passed his Second Legal State Exam in 1996 after, inter alia, having worked for a New York law firm.
