Peter advises clients in all aspects of Corporate and Commercial Law and is specialized in national and cross-border M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital transactions, including public-to-public deals. He has broad experience in transaction management.
Peter was born in Berlin in 1966, studied law at the universities of Bonn, Munich and Regensburg and graduated from the University of Regensburg in February 1993. As assistant lecturer at the institute of civil, commercial and economic law of the University of Regensburg he wrote his doctoral thesis on European and German antitrust law, finished his second state examination in July 1996 and was admitted to the Bar in January 1997.
From November 1996 until December 1997 Peter worked as lawyer at Dr. Widmer & Partner in Bern/Switzerland and Weiss, Walter, Fischer-Zernin in Munich. From January 1998 until 31 August 2002 he worked as senior lawyer in the Düsseldorf office of Clifford Chance (since 1 January 2000 Clifford Chance Pünder), and joined Taylor Wessing as partner in the Düsseldorf office on 1 September 2002.
Peter is a member of the German-American Lawyers’ Association and associated member of the Institute of Civil Law, Commercial Law and Economic Law of the University of Cologne. He lectures on M&A and Corporate Law for the Universities of Cologne and within a co-operative program of the RWTH Aachen and the University of Cincinnati/Ohio. He is co-author of the manual "Mezzanine Finanzierungsinstrumente" (Erich Schmidt Verlag, 2004).
Peter Hellich is member of the supervisory board of TECTURA AG, Münster.
Peter, a native German speaker, is fluent in English and proficient in French.
