Omleen leads the Taylor Wessing India Group in the UK. She co-ordinates the firm's India-related activity across all of the Taylor Wessing jurisdictions and advises on issues relating to investment into India from the UK, Europe and the Middle East and investment out of India into the UK, Europe and the Middle East. She visits India frequently, has a sizeable network of contacts in India and is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.
Prior to leading the India Group, Omleen was a partner in the firm's Corporate Tax group, specialising in corporate and international tax matters.
She has particular experience of structuring the tax-efficient acquisition, ownership and disposal of shares, securities, real estate and other assets (such as ships and aircraft) and of advising on the tax-efficient instigation of, and investment into, UK and offshore funds structures. Omleen also has experience of financing and refinancing structures, including structures involving Sharia-compliant financing. She has advised a number of UK-based multinational groups, as well as businesses based in India, the US, Europe and Asia.
Omleen joined Taylor Wessing in 2007 and became a partner in 2008. She was educated at the University of Sussex (1997 LLB Hons).
