Oliver Rothley works in the Corporate Practice Department, specialized in capital market law and M & A transactions. As member of the Securities Group he advises issuers as well as financial institutions on IPOs, SPOs and any further capital market related legal matters. He also advises listed companies on public takeovers, before and during their annual shareholders' meeting, on capital increases and structural measures and in various other cases related to capital market and stock option law. In the field of M&A, Oliver Rothley has strong experience in the foundation of Joint Ventures and legal advice of international enterprise acquisitions. In terms of Taylor Wessing's inbound business, Oliver Rothley supports predominantly American firms in setting up subsidiaries and branches in Germany.
After studying Law at the University of Augsburg and the University of Lausanne, Oliver Rothley passed his first state exam in 1997. Up until joining our Munich office in 2002, he worked for Prof. Dr. Herbert Buchner, chair for business law at the University of Augsburg and worked for several months in the legal department of Siemens AG in Munich. Oliver Rothley passed his second state exam in 1999 and earned a scholarship of Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). At the beginning of 2002 Oliver Rothley started working in our firm and was admitted to the Bar on March 2002. Since May 2007, he has been partner of the firm.
In 1993, Oliver Rothley published his dissertation entitled "Privacy violation through unsolicited commercial communication - an analysis of electronic communication with special emphasis on e-mail advertising." Moreover, Oliver Rothley regularly publishes papers and gives talks on stock corporation and capital market law.
