Managing Partner Germany

Since the early ’90s M. Florian Ranft specializes in national and international contract law, corporate law, all forms of business transactions, in particular direct investment in China, corporate restructuring, M&A, real estate, technology licensing, IP enforcement and labour and has lectured and published in respect of direct investment and IP in China in his function as the international head of the Taylor Wessing China Group.

Advising clients in relation to their China business since 1992 he focuses on technology driven industries, whether old or new economy. In addition to advising multi-nationals and medium-sized European entities in relation to their Chinese transactions M. Florian Ranft also assists Chinese firms and institutions in their transactions in Germany. Projects on which he advises are subject to Chinese approvals at provincial and central level. Based in Munich he regularly travels to China project oriented and in his function as the international head of the Taylor Wessing China Group.

He is founder of the firm’s offices in Shanghai and Beijing. As General Secretary of the Sino-German Lawyer’s Association (DCJV e. V.) he is supporting the legal exchange between China and Germany. In addition, he is a member of the German Delegation of the Legal Working Group under the German Ministry of Economics and MOFCOM.

His list of publications includes various articles in a number of different periodicals, he is co-author and co-editor of the China section in the "Handbook Economy and Law in Asia", Beck Publishing House1999.
