Dr. Matthias Kampshoff – Partner

Matthias advises clients on all aspects of corporate and insolvency law, with a focus on national and international M&A transactions. His clients are national and international companies, in particular in the energy, pharmaceutical and automotive industry, as well as private equity and venture capital investors. Further, Matthias specialises on advising companies and their shareholders in turn-around and insolvency situations or in upcoming financial crises. In this regard, his advice covers all relevant issues, as e.g. acquisitions out of insolvency, (financial) restructuring as well as advice to management and shareholders in order to avoid or master financial crises. In connection with the aforesaid, his expertise also covers advice on intra-group financing issues such as Cash-Pooling.

Matthias studied law at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and passed the German university and legal state examinations in 1998 and 2001. He wrote his doctoral thesis at the institute of Prof. Dr. Helmut Kollhosser at the university of Münster. From January 2002 until August 2008 Matthias worked in the Düsseldorf office of Clifford Chance and joined Taylor Wessing as partner in the Düsseldorf office on 1 September 2008. Matthias won the team award and achieved the fifth place in the individual competition of the 2007 "CEO of the Future" contest of McKinsey & Company.
