Martin Goodwin is a partner specialising in long-term tax and asset protection planning for wealthy families and particularly those with multi-national intellectual property rights and other multi-jurisdictional issues. He is a trustee of and/or adviser to a number of substantial, long-term family trusts.

Recent work includes:

  • Tax restructuring for a best selling author’s estate, involving US and UK elements.
  • A complex family estate dispute involving private businesses and substantial related pension scheme assets.
  • Tax planning advice for a music industry executive with multi-jurisdictional interests.
  • On-going tax and trust advice for a series of substantial family trusts.

Martin is Chairman of the Trustees of the firm's UK staff pension scheme.  He is also a Trustee of a very active grant making charity and helps run the firm's charitable and community initiatives programme.

Martin graduated from Southampton University with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then studied at the College of Law, London, leading to the Law Society’s qualifying examinations.  He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
