Malcolm deals with all aspects of commercial property work with particular emphasis on shopping centres, the leisure industry, student accommodation and schools, wind farms and motorway service areas.
Working in conjunction with banking, corporate, construction, commercial and recovery lawyers as required, Malcolm acts for the funders of all aspects of property and has special areas of expertise in Islamic Funding and the Telecommunications Code (having had articles published on both topics) and property development generally.
Recent areas of funding work include acting for banks financing the acquisition of:
- Seven substantial shopping centres.
- An office for redevelopment as an hotel.
- A number of companies/partnerships running homes for the handicapped.
- Portfolios of offices, industrial parks and retail outlets.
On recovery situations, Malcolm has been part of the team dealing with a substantial telecoms company which had over 1,500 telecommunications masts situated in the UK.
