Jakob advises on all forms of China-related direct investment and commercial activities. With his corporate and finance background, Jakob specializes on corporate transactions. A particular focus of Jakob’s practice lies on private equity and venture capital investments. As Attorney-at-Law and Tax Accountant Jakob provides his clients with viable solutions with a view to finance, taxation and law.

Jakob studied law in Germany, the UK and China. He did his doctorate with a thesis on Chinese credit law. After being admitted as lawyer in 2003, Jakob practiced corporate and financial law in Shanghai. Prior to joining TaylorWessing, he worked in the management of a German auditing and consulting firm with a focus on corporate recovery and M&A.

Jakob’s publications include books and articles on Chinese law and Chinese overseas investment. He speaks at events and has lectured corporate law at Nanjing University. Jakob is author and co-author of specialist books on Chinese law including Chinese contract law. A native German speaker, Jakob is fluent in English and Mandarin.
