Dr. Gregor Schmid, LL.M. (Cambridge) – Partner

Gregor Schmid's practice focuses on the production and distribution of Film, TV and other audiovisual productions. Gregor also regularly advises producers, banks and investors in the area of media finance, including securities. His practice further focuses on Mergers & Acquisitions. He has advised a number of media companies and financial investors in connection with transactions, in particular in the media sector, as well as restructurings.

Gregor has studied at the University of Munich (first legal state examination, 1993) and Cambridge (LL.M., 1994) and completed his second legal state examination at the Regional Supreme Court of Munich in 1996. He held a scholarship and was a research fellow  at the Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law and graduated as Dr. iur. in 1999. Before joining Taylor Wessing, he worked for a leading international law firm in Berlin.

Gregor has published widely in the areas of copyright, unfair competition and media law and has been a speaker at several conferences, amongst others for Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum and for Management Circle.

Gregor is fluent in German and English.
