Gregor Schmid specialises on all aspects of copyright and media law, IT and e-commerce. He regularly advises in media related transactions and financing. His core areas also include advice on film, TV, games and internet portals.
Gregor studied at the Universities of Munich and Cambridge and completed his second legal state examination at the Regional Supreme Court of Munich. He held a scholarship and was a research fellow at the Munich Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law and graduated as Dr. iur. in 1999. Before joining Taylor Wessing, he worked for another leading international law firm in Berlin and Frankfurt am Main.
Gregor Schmid is a frequent speaker, including at the Erich Pommer Institut, he is a lecturer at Humboldt University in Berlin and he regularly publishes articles on copyright and media law issues. Gregor is a member of the Telecoms, Internet and Media Steering Committee of AmCham Germany, of the BITKOM working group on IPTV, of the German Association for Law and Information Technology (DGRI), the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR). He is recommended by JUVE, Legal 500 and Chambers.
