Gisbert Hohagen advises national and international enterprises on intellectual property issues with a special focus on patents and utility models as well as copyright and publishing laws. In addition to the drafting of contracts in these areas, his scope of work especially extends to infringement litigation.

Gisbert Hohagen studied law in Munich and at the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) where he earned the Diplôme de Licence en Droit. Following the second legal state exam Gisbert worked as an instructor and head of department at the Munich-based Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law between 1999 and 2003. He earned his doctor's degree in copyright law in the team of Prof. Gerhard Schricker at the Munich University (and was awarded the faculty prize of the MunichUniversity's law school and the Heinrich-Hubmann-Preis of Verwertungsgesellschaft Wort). Gisbert was admitted to the bar in 2003.

Gisbert Hohagen regularly publishes specialist articles in the field of intellectual property. His previous publications include a number of works on German, foreign and international copyright laws. Gisbert is a member of the Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht (GRUR) and the Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI).
