Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais is a member of the Corporate Practice Department. He advises clients on all issues of corporate law and corporate finance law. He specialises in national and international M&A, private equity, and venture capital transactions as well as in corporate re-organisations. Due to his longtime activity in the media and private equity industries, he has considerable economic expertise and is highly experienced in transaction management. In addition, he has particular expertise in advising on the creation of both private equity and real estate funds, including corporate and tax structuring.
Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais passed his first legal state exam in Lower Saxony in 1991. He obtained his doctorate in corporate and capital markets law under the tutelage of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Ulrich Immenga as a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes). He also obtained his Master of Law (LL.M.) in 1994 at the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. In 1996, he passed his second legal state exam in Hamburg and was admitted to the bar in 1997. Between 1996 and 1999, Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais worked in several positions for the Bertelsmann Group. Between 1999 and 2002, Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais was a partner and investment director at CEA Capital Partners in Düsseldorf, an international private equity fund, focussing on the media and communication industries. He became a partner of Taylor Wessing at the beginning of 2003. Furthermore, he is a member of the management board of Taylor Wessing Germany since summer 2007.
Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais is the chairman of the advisory committee of the private equity fund IMH Hannover Venture Capital GmbH & Co. KG, Hannover, and member of the board of directors of the Private Equity Forum NRW e.V., Düsseldorf. He is also co-author of a handbook on mezzanine finance (“Mezzanine Finanzierungen”) which was published by C. H. Beck Verlag in 2006.
