Detlef Klett – Partner

Detlef specialized on legal advice in the areas of information technology, telecommunications and data protection. For years, he advises domestic and international enterprises from the information technology and telecommunications industry. Apart from that, he is in charge of complex IT projects, in particular concerning outsourcing, license management and IT security. Detlef was recognized as a "frequently recommended lawyer" for IT law by Germany's leading legal magazine "JuVe" in its 2007/2008 yearbook. Detlef Klett is a specialist solicitor for information technology law.

Following a traineeship as bank clerk and his studies at the University of Cologne, Detlef completed both German legal state exams in 1993 and 1995. He was admitted to the bar in 1996 and joined Taylor Wessing in 2005.

Detlef is co-editor of the manual "Leitfaden IT-Recht", which has been published in the "Bundesanzeiger-Verlag". Besides, he regulary contributes to several journals and gives lectures on his areas of expertise. He acts as arbitrator for the arbitration board for IT-disputes in Hamburg and is vice-chairman of the intermediate examination board “Specialist Solicitor for IT-Law” of the Bar Association Düsseldorf.

Detlef is a native German speaker. Furthermore, he is fluent in English.
