David is a partner in the Corporate Department of Taylor Wessing leading a team of 42 lawyers specialising in advising emerging growth and listed companies from the US, Canada, Europe, Australasia, China, Taiwan and Japan on:
- Mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures
- Strategic alliances, technology transfers, distribution and licensing agreements
- Establishment and operation of business in the UK and Europe.
David’s clients include companies in the capital markets, manufacturing and service areas, media and publishing companies and technology companies involved in the internet, software, hardware, telecoms and life sciences areas. Many of these overseas companies are regarded as the leading companies (the so called "hot" companies) in their sectors. David and his team act as and when required as General Counsel for Europe and through its five German offices and, its French and Belgium offices, club memberships and other close relationships, Taylor Wessing provides a pan-European service to its clients.
David has given over 200 lectures in the United States and written a number of articles, pamphlets and guides on the European Union and inward investment into the UK; he is principal author and editor of 'Doing Business in the UK Opportunities and Pitfalls' (John Wiley & Sons 1995), and co-author and editor of the legal chapters in ‘Investor’s Guide to the United Kingdom’ (Kogan Page 2004, 2nd edition 2006).
Over the years David has been and continues to be listed in "Legal Experts", “Chambers” in his fields, Corporate, M&A, IT, Biotechnology and Immigration and Who's Who for Legal and Business Lawyers and for Life Sciences Lawyers.
David was educated at Epsom College and Kingston University and has been at Taylor Wessing and its prior firms since qualification. His interests are listed as, family, shooting, surfing and koi carp.
