David is a partner in the Dispute Resolution department specialising in complex commercial litigation including contractual disputes, partnership and joint venture disputes, company disputes, white collar crime, fraud, asset tracing, money laundering, pensions disputes, professional negligence and Judicial Review. David has conducted a wide range of litigation, which is largely High Court based, and arbitration (domestic and international).

David has extensive experience acting for clients in the technology sector. He is recognised in Chambers legal directory and praised for his "total professionalism, attention to detail and good way with clients," who endorse him for "bringing a balanced and pragmatic approach to the table."

  • Acting for an international software developer in a substantial IT project dispute
  • Acting for an electronics company in a $100 million fraud case against 26 Defendants and involving cross-border litigation and enforcement.
  • Acting for Partners in a private equity fund in a dispute with the former General Partner of the fund in what amounted to one of the first forced removals in the UK of a Fund Manager.
  • Acting for an agent against the vendor of a hotel in a claim for US$20m commission.
  • Acting for a PDA manufacturer in a breach of confidence claim relating to the design of a computer operating system including executing search and seizure orders.
  • Acting on behalf of an international IT company defending claims by a third party for breach of confidence.
  • Acting for shareholders in an airline in a dispute over shareholder voting rights and share allotments.
  • Acting for an American Bank in the investigation a multi-million dollar fraud perpetrated against it and in the subsequent proceedings against a former employee to trace assets and recover monies.
  • Acting for a UK Bank in claims arising out of a third party cheque fraud.
  • Acting for an IT company against a sub-contractor on a complex dispute arising out of the outsourcing of the re-platforming of a national supermarket's sales terminals.
  • Defending a breach of contract claim brought by a key supplier against an IT company and successfully bringing a counterclaim for economic duress.
  • Acting for members of the AGCO Limited (Massey Ferguson) employee pension scheme in a dispute over rights under the scheme rules.
  • Acting for a UK bank on claims arising out of allegations of breach of foreign law by customers.
  • Acting for the NFU in the High Court and in the European Court of Justice on claims arising out of the non-payment of EC subsidies to NFU members.
  • Acting for US firms on applications to the High Court in London for deposition orders.
