Christoph F. Vaupel is specialised in equity capital markets transactions (IPOs, share placements, rights offerings, listings, public takeovers of listed companies) and M&A transactions. Since 1997 he has advised in a lead role on more than 60 ECM transactions acting both for underwriters and issuers, and more than 30 M&A transactions predominantly in the financial institutions sector.
After having studied two semesters French language and literature at the Sorbonne in Paris, Christoph studied law at the Universities of Munich and Regensburg. He completed his first legal state exam in 1988 and his second legal state exam in Munich in 1991. In 1990 and 1991 he worked as a summer associate with law firms in Rio de Janeiro and Los Angeles, CA. In 1994, Christoph obtained his master degree from New York University in corporate law (LL.M. Corporate).
Christoph is admitted to the German bar since 1991 and to the New York bar since 1995. Between 1991 and 1993, Christoph worked for Rogers & Wells as associate. In 1995, he joined Oppenhoff & Rädler, the German predecessor firm of Linklaters LLP, where he became Junior Partner in 1997 and Partner in 2000. On 1 September 2011, Christoph assumed the role as Head of Capital Markets of Taylor Wessing in Germany.
Christoph has published numerous articles on capital markets related topics. He is named in the International Who’s Who of Capital Markets Lawyers for Germany, named as a leading individual in Chambers Europe, Legal 500 and PLC for Equity Capital Markets and has been named as frequently recommended for Equity Capital Markets for many years in JUVE.
