Burkhard specialises in rendering comprehensive legal advice in respect of the structuring and implementation of transactions, in particular with respect to investments made by international investors in Germany. He focuses on M&A transactions as well as on corporate real estate transactions, including the financing of acquisitions. Burkhard also advises domestic and international clients with respect to the formation of joint ventures. In addition, he advises on privatisations, in particular of hospitals and nursing homes. His client base mainly consists of major national and international companies.
Upon completion of his legal studies at the Freie Universität Berlin he obtained a doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin as well as a LL.M: degree from the University of California, Davis. Burkhard has been admitted to practice law in Germany (since 1997) as well as in California (since 1999).
