Andreas Bauer was born in Munich in 1972. He studied law at the Munich Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität where he passed the first legal state exam in 1997. Following his studies Andreas Bauer worked as a trainee lawyer in Munich and for a law firm in San Diego, USA, where he focused on mediation. Andreas Bauer passed the second legal state exam in 2000.
Andreas Bauer was admitted to the German Bar in 2000. In the early stages of his professional carrier he specialised right from the outset in the field of intellectual property and unfair competition, advising brand manufacturers as well as advertising agencies especially in copyright, trademark and unfair competition issues. In September 2003 he joined the Munich office of Taylor Wessing, and since then has represented national and international companies especially in IP-related issues. His main practice areas comprise unfair competition, trademark and copyright law, including litigation.
Andreas Bauer is a member of the Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht (GRUR) and the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle (AIPPI).
