Alain de Foucaud, who had been a partner at Taylor Wessing for six years, died on 5 May 2012.
Alain had enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a lawyer which included seven years spent in New York. On his return to Paris, he co-founded the Paris office of Donovan & Leasure which later merged with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, where he became Managing Partner for France. During this time Alain became a specialist in capital markets and developed a particular expertise for new technology and biotech IPOs.
Alain held a number of prestigious appointments within the legal profession and his achievements were recognised when he was awarded the medal of Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur, personally presented to him by Christine Lagarde, who at the time was Minister of the Economy, Industry and Employment.
Alain will be missed by both family and colleagues, and remembered for his charm, intellect and charisma.
