Intellectual property in China
One of the greatest areas of opportunity and risk for Western companies in China is in transferring or licensing know-how, patents and trademarks to Chinese companies. The China Group provides full services in relation to intellectual property, including drafting license agreements, protecting technology and trademarks and advising clients on how to minimise the risk of abuses and the steps to be taken in the case of IP infringements.
China Group experience includes:
- first technology license in 1981
- participating in developing the "Standard Contract for Patent & Know-how License" of the Sino-German mixed legal working group in 1999/02 (partner of law firm is head of the German delegation)
- actions against infringers.
