Robert is a Partner specialising in EU and UK competition law. He regularly advises companies on general competition law compliance and has built up significant behavioural experience successfully defending companies during cartel investigations in sectors as diverse as polyurethane, construction, recruitment services, FMCGs, education, and transport. He submitted the first successful appeal to the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Robert has extensive experience of M&A work and has submitted a wide variety of merger notifications. He has carried out advocacy before the Competition Appeals Tribunal and submitted various complaints to both the OFT and the European Commission. Robert also has provided advice on commercial contracts over a wide variety of sectors.
Robert has an LLB (European Legal Studies) from Durham University; this included a year studying Spanish commercial law and European law at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Robert speaks fluent Spanish.
