Rizwi has been in practice for about 15 years and currently heads the Firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Practice. He has developed an in-depth and practical understanding in the areas of Entertainment and Media Law, Franchising Law, and Laws regarding the Internet. He has advised and acted in many matters relating to development, protection, and commercialisation of intellectual property rights and technology. Rizwi also advises on regulatory issues including, in particular, Competition Law in Singapore.

His work covers many industries and his major clients come from the personal care products and cosmetics industry, and the education sector.

Rizwi has previously worked as in-house legal officer and company secretary to a Singapore Government-Linked Company and legal counsel in a multi-national consumer electronics company.

Rizwi has volunteered for the Law Society’s Pro Bono Programme from 2007 and is the vice chairman of the Law Society's Project Law Help Committee. He regularly contributes to journal publications and participates in seminars on topics including life sciences research, data protection, and franchising.

Rizwi was identified as one of the most highly-acclaimed legal experts in the Asia-Pacific region in the practice area of Intellectual Property by the 2007 Asialaw Leading Lawyers survey and was listed as one of the eight individuals for Franchising in Singapore in the Who’s Who Legal Singapore 2008. He has maintained his track record by being listed in Asia Legal 500 in 2009 and 2010 for Intellectual Property.
