Michael specializes in the areas of corporate, commercial, sports, media, entertainment and intellectual property law.
He has advised a broad range of clients from the sports, music, film, TV, media production, broadcasting and franchise industries on various industry specific matters.
Michael studied law in Berlin (Germany), Bayreuth (Germany) and Melbourne (Australia). In July 2002, he was awarded a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law (LL.M.) from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. He trained at UFA Film & TV Production GmbH, a major German film and TV production company, and in the International Copyright Department of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) in Los Angeles, USA. Michael was admitted to the German Bar in October 2004 and was awarded a doctorate in law (Dr. jur.) for his thesis on "Ways to legally protect television format rights under US and German law" in February 2006.
