Matthias Klein is a member of the Planning and Environment group and the Life Sciences & Healthcare and Energy & Environment industry groups. He is specialised in public and administrative law. In this field, he advises large and medium-scale companies as well as public entities, particularly with regard to environmental law, industrial law, state budget law and gambling law. Another legal focus lies on the public healthcare sector, especially in conjunction with the creation of co-operation and outsourcing solutions. Here, his clients range from medical practioners and hospitals to health insurance funds and their contractual partners.
Matthias Klein studied law at the Universities of Münster and Seville (Spain). During that time, he also completed a two-year degree programme in English law. After his first legal state examination in 2004, he began his practical legal training with stations, inter alia, at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer and the German Embassy in Asunción (Paraguay). He passed his second legal state examination 2006 in Düsseldorf. Subsequently, he worked two years as a scientific assistant at the Institute for Environmental and Planning Law at the University of Münster, where he has also finished his dissertation on a constitutional question under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hans D. Jarass. At the beginning of 2009, Matthias Klein joined the Düsseldorf office of Taylor Wessing.
Matthias Klein is lecturer for European law at the University of Kassel and at the University of Applied Administrative Studies in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Matthias Klein is a native German speaker. He is fluent in English and Spanish and has basic knowledge of French.
