Katrien is specialised in German und International trademark law and deals mainly with the prosecution, defence and enforcement of trademark rights before courts and trademark registries. She also assists clients with regard to formulating corresponding agreements and providing advice with regard to the establishment and administration of trademark portfolios. Among her clients are national and medium sized companies as well as international corporations and leading companies.
Katrien studied Law at the Universities of Kortrijk and Leuven (Belgium). In 1991 she had the opportunity to study European law for six months at the Europe institute in Saarbrücken under an Erasmus scolarship. In 1992 she graduated with a "licence spéciale en droit économique" from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve. She passed the State examination for admission to the German bar at the district court of Stuttgart in 1997. Katrien joined Taylor Wessing in 2000.
She is co-author of a trade marks compendium and is a member of GRUR.
