Heinrich Rodewig studied literature and law at several universities in Germany and abroad and earned his doctor's degrees at the universities of Bordeaux (doctorat d'université) and Bonn (Dr. jur.) before he started teaching corporate and antitrust law at Freie Universitaet Berlin and the University for Applied Sciences for public administration, Berlin. He started practising as a lawyer in 1979 and has worked as in-house counsel to several major German groups for about 20 years, starting in 1980, where he contributed to the restructuring of the German steel industry in the 1980s and of the aerospace industry in the 1990s. As head of legal affairs of Daimler-Benz, Heinrich Rodewig was, among other things, in charge of the merger with Chrysler before he decided to dedicate his skills full-time to a law firm.
