Dr.Georg Nolte practices in all areas of intellectual property and media law with a special focus on copyright law and information technologies. Georg particularly specialises in copyright issues relating to the exploitation of entertainment and information products in online media. As a member of the Practice Area Copyright and Media Law, he also represents clients in court and out of court disputes and advises on contracts and transactions.    

Georg studied law and trained as a lawyer in Hamburg, Strasburg and Berlin. During his studies he worked for Prof. Dr. Hans-Bernd Schäfer at Hamburg university and as an assistant at the European Parliament in Strasburg and Brussels. After his studies he worked as a research assistant at the institute for information law at Karlsruhe university. As a trainee lawyer, his employers included the Federal Ministry of Justice, department for copyright and publishing law. Georg was admitted to the Berlin bar in late 2006 and worked for one of Germany’s leading commercial law firms before he joined our Berlin office in June 2008.  

Georg did his doctorate on a topic of copyright law, supervised by Prof. Dr. Thomas Dreier at Freiburg University. He publishes on topics of copyright and information law on a regular basis.  

He advises in German and English.
