Benjamin Grzimek specialises in technology-related intellectual property. He focuses on patent law, in particular on patent litigation before the specialised patent courts, and advises German and foreign technology-driven companies on patent strategies, freedom to operate and employee inventions. Benjamin Grzimek drafts and negotiates patent and know how license and transfer agreements as well as non-disclosure and R& D contracts. Clients include companies from the chemical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, agricultural, automotive, ITC, consumer electronics and mechanical engineering industries.
Benjamin Grzimek spent a considerable amount of time abroad, including five years of grammar school in Caracas/Venezuela and internships at the Canadian Foreign Affairs Department (Ottawa) and Henry Holt & Co publishing house (New York). Following his legal studies, in 2000 Benjamin Grzimek finished his clerkship and bar exam in Cologne. After working in the Munich and Düsseldorf offices of the law firm Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz, he joined Taylor Wessing in 2005.
Benjamin Grzimek is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (GRUR), the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle (AIPPI), the German Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP), the German Bar Association and the European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW). He has published on strategies in international infringement cases as well as on many technology-related aspects such as computer-implemented inventions and patent enforcement in the field of biotechnology. Furthermore, Benjamin is a frequent speaker on all aspects of technology-related intellectual property.
Apart from German as his native language, he speaks English, Spanish and French.
