Athina Thamm – Senior Associate

Athina is a member of the Practice Area Competition, EU and Trade. She specializes in all aspects of European and state aid law. She advises national and international authorities in privatization processes. Furthermore, she advises numerous national and international companies in various areas of EU economic law (state aid, anti-dumping, regulation).

Athina studied law in Frankfurt am Main and Paris where she finished her studies obtaining the title Maîtrise en Droit International public et Européen. After the First State Exam she worked for a European interregional Organisation in Strasbourg, France. In the course of her legal traineeship Athina worked, inter alia, for the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York. She took the German bar exam in 2005 and was subsequently employed at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Athina was admitted as an attorney in 2006; before joining Taylor Wessing she worked two years for a leading German corporate law firm in Frankfurt am Main.

Athina, a German and Greek native speaker, is fluent in English and French and has basic knowledge of Spanish.
