Astrid Wagner is a member of the Corporate practice group and spezialised in Insurance law. Her work is focussed on advising insurance undertakings on M&A and other transactions, such as the acquisition and sale of corporate shares or of insurance portfolios as well as the establishment of insurance undertakings and their branches in Germany. She represents especially foreign clients vis-à-vis the German regulator BaFin. Moreover, she provides legal advice with regard to the structuring of distribution systems and to the development of insurance products.
Astrid Wagner also has experience in the planning and organisation of national and cross-border acquisitions as well as in the structuring of joint ventures, also for clients from the energy industry.
Astrid Wagner studied law at the University of Münster, where she also completed a two-year degree programme in US-American law. After her first state exam in 2004 she wrote her doctoral thesis on data protection issues related to outsourcing. She did her practical legal training at the District Court of Münster with stations in Düsseldorf and New York. From 2007 until 2009 she worked in the Corporate/M&A Department of the international law firm Clifford Chance in Düsseldorf. In 2009, she joined the Düsseldorf office of Taylor Wessing.
Astrid Wagner is a native German speaker. She is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of French.
