Alexander advises a wide range of companies, including national and international SMEs and Fortune 500 companies, on all aspects of individual and collective employment law. Alexander also advises on related aspects of corporate law, especially company codetermination department and private international law as well as litigation at all levels including the Federal Labour Court. Alexander has developed particular expertise in the development of innovative compensation and working time plans as well as advising on restructuring processes and giving day-to-day advice to HR departments. Alexander also regularly advises executives on all aspects of their contracts of employment, remuneration packages and settlement agreements.

Alexander read Law at the Universities of Hamburg and Göttingen, where he also wrote his Doctorate at the Institute of Labour Law. These studies included research sabbaticals in South Africa as a scholar of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). Alexander gained further experience in foreign jurisdictions by working for the German Consulate General in Kobe, Japan and the employment department of one of the leading corporate law firms in the City of London before joining Taylor Wessing in 2001.

Alexander was the President of the Labour Law Commission of AIJA (International Young Lawyer's Association) for many years and has built up an international network of personal contacts with employment lawyers in various countries. He is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. Among Alexander's publications are a book on the collective employment law system of South Africa and contributions to The International Lawyer. Alexander is also recognized regularly in "Chambers Europe" as one of the "Leading Individuals" in Employment in Germany, being "reliable, service-oriented and pragmatic".

Alexander, a native German speaker, is fluent in English.
