Bio 2007

Taylor Wessing partner, Dr Malcolm Bates, is to be a panellist at BIO's break-out session "Achieving Win/Win in Pharma: Biotech Global Collaboration Agreements"

Complex international research/development collaboration agreements between pharma and biotech companies are increasingly the vehicle of choice for identification and development of new biopharmaceutical products, despite significant hurdles.

Successful negotiation and crafting of such agreements requires both parties to overcome significant hurdles not encountered in less involved licensing agreements.

This session will discuss strategies and techniques for achieving a “win/win” result in crafting and drafting an international, multiproduct, research/development collaboration agreement, drawing upon recent successful completion of the Novo Nordisk/Innate Pharma collaboration agreement and similar deals.  (Taylor Wessing's Malcolm Bates advised Innate Pharma on the deal.)

Chair: Susan M. Thorpe, Senior Licensing Director, Novo Nordisk A/S.
