The Global Dispute Resolution research was carried out internationally by Taylor Wessing through February, March and April 2009 in association with the Z/Yen Group.
The research was conducted by way of an online questionnaire in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Market Research Society, and it generated responses from over 300 commercial and legal professionals from around the world.
As commercial dispute resolution becomes ever more international, there is an increasing body of experience upon which experts can make direct comparisons between competing jurisdictions, covering a range of performance factors including the predictability of outcome, speed and cost. Drawing upon that experience, this report provides a comprehensive assessment of current trends and attitudes in international disputes, and it offers useful comparisons between a number of important established and emerging jurisdictions.
Respondents came from a wide variety of industries and a spread of countries, with the majority coming from the UK, Germany and the USA.
