Broadcasting and Film
Taylor Wessing’s Broadcasting and Film practice spans the industry spectrum and provides advice to a host of clients including broadcasters, communications networks and service providers, online and on demand operators, satellite and cable operators and film and television production businesses.
Currently, organisations in the industry may be facing a number of issues including: combating piracy; compliance with Ofcom and European regulation; navigating the complex commercial and regulatory landscape including negotiating distribution and licensing agreements and financing new ventures whether in the distribution or production sectors.
We deal with all operational aspects of the audiovisual media industry, such as network and technology related agreements (e.g. agreements for playout facilities, set-top boxes, and EPGs) and technical issues such as the acquisition of conditional access technology and contracts relating to the satellite industry. Our practice also extends to advising on media financing, providing advice on both traditional and more innovative funding mechanisms and structures.
