Taylor Wessing advised ERGO Equity Partner AG on structuring a EUR 200 million European Private Equity Fund, called IRIS CAPITAL. IRIS CAPITAL, formally Part'Com, realised its first closing at EUR 100 million. To have achieved a first closing of this size in the current media, communications and information technology industries was unique in 2003.
ERGO led a number of renowned German Institutional investors investing EUR 35 million in IRIS CAPITIAL via German feeder fund. ERGO and the French bank, CDC Ixis each acquired a 20% interest in the management company of IRIS CAPITAL, which is controlled by the management itself.
The Taylor Wessing team comprised of Dr. Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais (private equity, M&A), Wolfgang Lenz and Dr. Dirk Lorenz (tax) in the German offices.
IRIS CAPITAL was advised by SJ Berwin, Paris.
