Head of Employment (UK)
Sean is Head of Taylor Wessing's Employment and Pensions group and supervises its immigration work.
He deals with all aspects of employment work, including executive employment and termination, commercial transactions and business transfers, often with an international element.
He has extensive experience of employment law in the context of commercial transactions, including outsourcings and international reorganisations. He advises on collective redundancies and consultation, as well as individual employment disputes (particularly with an international context or complex benefits issues).
Sean began advising on UK immigration matters in 1990 and oversees Taylor Wessing's business immigration practice, working for international corporate clients and senior individuals across all categories.
He is recognised by Legal 500, Chambers and New City Media as an expert in the employment field and has written the chapter on Transfers of Undertakings in Sweet & Maxwell's Encyclopaedia of Employment Law. Described by Chambers as 'extremely commercial and great at looking at the wider implications of employment issues for businesses' and is ‘innovative and very bright’.
He was a member of the sub-committee of the Employment Lawyers Association, which was involved in consultations with the Department of Trade & Industry on the proposed reforms of TUPE in Summer 2005. He is a graduate of Oxford University.
