Edward is a senior associate in the Intellectual Property department. He specialises in contentious and non-contentious patent work in a variety of industries.
His experience includes:
- acting for a multinational pharmaceutical company in a number of patent cases, including those relating to an anti-epileptic drug, a new formulation for an anti-depressant drug and an antihistamine treatment;
- acting for a global medical device company in patent litigation concerning coronary stents. Co-ordinating with lawyers conducting parallel litigation in the US and other European jurisdictions;
- acting for a Dubai-based technology company in relation to the commercialisation of its applications in the field of nanotechnology;
- acting for a worldwide materials company in patent litigation concerning waterproof and breathable footwear; and
- providing infringement / validity opinions and co-ordinated advice with patent lawyers in other jurisdictions.
Edward has a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from Bristol University. He has written articles for the CIPA Journal, World Intellectual Property Report and Bioscience Law Review, and spent time seconded to Taylor Wessing's Munich office.
