Corporate and Debt Restructuring

Our wide ranging expertise in all areas of restructuring and finance, plus our close working relationships with other practice groups within the firm, ensures that we are well placed to advise and offer practical, innovative and effective solutions in relation to restructuring complex financing for all types of businesses. Our experience and broad knowledge means that, in practice, we are well placed to move very quickly from being introduced to a business to having a deep and relevant understanding of how it operates.  The benefit of this for our clients is that we are able to have a constant and invaluable involvement in manoeuvring any business to its desired outcome.

We offer comprehensive advice on the design and efficient implementation of effective corporate and capital structures and advise on the restructuring of groups both inside and outside of formal insolvency proceedings. Our experience extends to acting on some of the most complex and high value restructurings in Europe, often involving groups with interests in multiple jurisdictions and managing the various steps required to achieve a successful outcome.

We have advised corporates, equity investors, secured lenders, bondholders and unsecured creditors in relation to a number of cross-border restructurings.  Our unparalleled knowledge of the insolvency regimes around Europe enables us to recommend strategies beyond the obvious. Where a restructuring plan is required, we are adept at conducting difficult negotiations with banks, suppliers, customers, trade unions, works councils and pension scheme representatives.

Corporate group structures often benefit from restructuring in order to deal with companies which are no longer required or where value can be released through solvent winding up or similar processes. We have experience in acting on some very substantial, cross-border corporate simplification projects, working alongside accountants, tax advisers and investors.
