Anja is a member of the Practice Area Patents. She advises domestic and international clients, in particular in patent infringement litigation and employee's invention law. Further, she participates in parallel opposition and nullity proceedings before the European Patent Office and the German Patent Court. Her technical focus is on pharmaceuticals and medical devices, chemistry, semiconductor, telecommunication, mechanical engineering.
Anja studied in Dresden, Genf and Heidelberg. She passed her Legal State Exams 2000 in Heidelberg and 2005 in Düsseldorf. Her practical training included working for an international law firm in Tokyo. In 2001, she read at Centre d’Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Industrielle (CEIPI) and Technical University Dresden and was awarded the degree of LL.M. International Studies in Intellectual Property Law. For her PhD thesis on the "Legal consequences of patent invalidity" she was awarded the Faculty of Law Doctoral Prize at the Technical University of Dresden in 2007. Following her admission to the bar in 2006, Anja worked in a law firm specialized on patent litigation in Düsseldorf until 2011 when she joined Taylor Wessing.
Anja regularly publishes on current issues of Intellectual Property Law, in particular on patent related questions, and she is speaker at conferences and seminars on patent and design law. As president of the International Studies in Intellectual Property Law - Alumni Association e.V. she works as editor and regularly organizes academic conferences regarding Intellectual Property law. Member of GRUR (German Association for IP and Copyright), AIPPI (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle) and VPP (Association of Intellectual Property Experts).
Anja is a specialist solicitor for Industrial Property Law.
Anja, a native German speaker, is fluent in English and French and has a good command of Japanese and basic knowledge of Russian and Spanish.
